Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad were chosen as sites for the 16 games remaining in the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) if the season resumes in May after the tournament suspended for a week following the growing tensions between India and Pakistan, according to Espcricinfo. According to Espncricinfo, the IPL has chosen three sites in the cities of southern India in case the Indian government gives a wink to take over the tournament. Friday, the BCCI announced that the tournament would be suspended for a week due to the increase in cross -border tensions between the two neighboring countries.

Several team officials have informed Espncricinfo that the rest of the tournament could be played later in the year. When it comes to taking up the league rich in species, among the most important challenges to which the BCCI is faced in the current situation is to bring players abroad.

After the announcement of the suspension, the teams began to dissolve and the players began to obtain the next flight available to their respective destinations. According to Espncricinfo, the majority of players abroad are expected to fly from India by the end of Saturday.

The franchises remain optimistic about the return of foreign players to a scenario where the tournament resumes later in May. However, they did not offer any guarantee that the tournament would extend beyond the May 25 window, the date on which the IPL 2025 final was to be held at the Eden’s gardens in Kolkata.

Several players will engage in their bilateral commitments and the final of the world championship between Australia and South Africa, which will be played in Lord’s from June 11.

Overall, 57 games were completed in IPL 2025, and the 58th match between the Kings of Punjab and the Delhi capitals at the HPCA stadium in Dharamshala was canceled after 10.1 overs.
