After Fool Volume success, Vir Das announces Hey Stranger residency at iconic Lincoln Center Theater : Bollywood News
2023 Winner of Emmy Emmy Award for the best comedy series for the Netflix Special Vir Das: Landing, Vir Das is ready to add another historic step to his career. After the massive success of his latest volume of program on Netflix, the famous actor, actor and writer is now preparing to become the very first Indian artist to have his own residence with Hey Stranger, to be staged at the legendary Lincoln Center Theater in New York. The two -week race will take place from October 29 to November 9, 2025.

The Lincoln Center has long housed some of the most revered world artists. Indian icons like Sitar’s Maestro Ravi Shankar, Legends of Tabla Zakir Hussain and Pandit Ananda Gopal Bhose, Shehnai Virtuoso Bismillah Khan, to carnatic singer Mme Subbulakshmi, the place was witness to historical performance. Internationally, he welcomed some of the biggest names in the world of music, theater and art. Joining this line, Vir Das should make history as one of the rare Indian actors to have his own residence at the prestigious place.
For Hey Stranger, Vir associates with the director nominated at the Tony Awards, Moritz von Sturalpnagel and Seaview, the famous production company behind many successes of Broadway and Off-Broadway, including a Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (Tony Award), Good Night, Good Luck, Record-12 Tony Numinations), George Clooney’s Good Night, and Good Luck, and Adam’s Hold On Darling.
Speaking of this monumental moment, Vir Das shared: “There is nothing more exciting than the bottom of a scale. Where you play with people better than you, out of your depth, and you have to learn, and push your job to meet a really global level. For me, which has always been Broadway. Come see!”
Vir also adds: “According to the traces of legends like Ravi Shankar Ji, Zakir Hussain Ji and Mrs. Subbulakshmi Ji is a responsibility in itself. Comedy can be a different support, but at its heart, it is always human connection, through cultures and languages to connect us, to reject us, to move us. Strangeness.
Vir concludes: “I am delighted to work with a visionary like Moritz von SturalpNagel and a central like Seaview, which created some of the most emblematic works of Broadway. It is a unique opportunity to make people laugh, and I can’t wait to walk on this stage, to see these lights, and hope people say, think and feel a little less.”
With Hey Stranger, Vir Das cements its place not only as one of the most famous comic voices in India, but also as a world interpreter shaping the story of contemporary comedy on the world scene.
