Actress Amrita Arora Ladak recently testified as a witness in the current case against actor Saif Ali Khan, her husband Shakeel Ladak and their friend Bilal Amrohi. The case relates to an altercation of 2012 in a five-star hotel, where the businessman Iqbal Sharma accused the trio of attacking him and his brother-in-law, Raman Patel.

Addressing NDTV, Amrita detailed this night’s events, saying that the incident began when an unknown individual has aggressively confronted his group. “We saw someone hindering in our enclosure and, in a very strong and aggressive voice, told us to be silent and to be silent. We were all shocked by what was going on,” she said. Amrita also said that Saif Ali Khan had responded to the situation with apology, getting up immediately to spread the tension.
The altercation would have involved Sharma accusing Saif and his friends of behaving aggressively and abusing him. He also allegedly alleged that the actor had struck him, breaking his nose and also attacked his brother-in-law Raman Patel. The businessman filed a police complaint shortly after the incident, leading to accusations of attack and criminal intimidation against Saif and his associates.
However, Saif Ali Khan has always argued that he had acted in self-defense. According to him, the altercation only increased after Sharma would have made disparaging remarks on the women of the group, who included Kareena Kapoor Khan, Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora. The actor said that Sharma’s comments were offensive and he replied for their defense.
The case has been underway for more than a decade, with several court hearings. Amrita’s testimony supports the version of Saif events, stressing that the situation began with Sharma’s aggressive approach. The court should examine witness declarations before arriving at a final verdict. The incident continues to arouse the public interest, while the legal battle takes place with the declarations of the two parts in light on different perspectives of what happened that night.
