IPL 2025 – Mumbai Indians – Not having Jasprit Bumrah a challenge, says Mahela Jayawardene

“”[Bumrah] has just started its progress. We have to wait and see what their [BCCI medical team] The comments are on him, “said Jayawardene.” For the moment, everything is going well. But, obviously, it’s daily. He’s in a good mood. Not having it is a challenge. He has been one of the best quarry in the world and has been a fantastic pro for us for many years.
“We will have to wait or find the opportunity for someone else to intensify. This is how I see it. It gives us an element to try a few things and see how things work. The first part of the season allows us to do it.”
Bumrah played all of his IPL cricket for MI, from 2013 and picked up 165 counters in 133 games over the years. The only IPL season he has missed since he started playing was in 2023 when he had a back injury.
MI Squad a Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Reece Topley and Corbin Bosch (replacement of Lizaad Williams) like the other front line speeds, as well as Captain Hhelik Pandya, Allrounder and Ashwani Kumar, Satyanarayana Raju, Arjun Tendulkar and Raj Angad Bawa. The absence of Bumrah could force a rensation of the Bowling plans of Mi, because Boult and Chahar are mainly mighties of power, leaving them less T20 in death.
The first two IPL 2025 MI devices are absent. They start their campaign in Chennai against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 23, then play Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad on March 29. Mi’s first home game is two days later when they welcome Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 31. Bengaluru (RCB) on April 7.
