BREAKING: YRF, Sun Pictures WARN theatres of Rs. 2 lakhs fine for underreporting War 2 and Coolie’s box office collections : Bollywood News

In a decisive decision to protect the integrity of his next outing of big tickets, War 2Yash Raj Films (YRF) has published a strict directive to exhibitors across India, warning serious consequences for any sub-declaration of collections to the box office, Bollywood Hungama learned. The Hrithik Roshan – Jr NTR Starrer is expected to go out in theaters on Thursday, August 14, 2025 and is presented as one of the largest versions of the year.

Breaking: YRF, Sun Pictures warns the rooms of Rs. 2 Lakhs fine for the under-declaration of war 2 and the coolus collections at the box office
In an official communication, Gaurav Paul, who heads the distribution for Delhi and UP to YRF, has recognized the long -standing relationship with cinematographic partners, declaring that most have “resisted YRF as a rock for decades”. However, he also noted that there had been “wandering cases” in recent times when the box office numbers for certain films would have been underdeveloped in terms of cinema.
To respond to this concern, YRF adopted a proactive approach by deploying several independent surveillance teams to follow the collections directly from the theaters of the country. These teams will be responsible for ensuring transparency and complete precision in the reports, leaving no room for differences.
And that’s not all. The email also mentioned that any cinema found guilty of underestimated collections will be faced with a penalty of RS. 2.00,000 per screen. This monetary fine will be accompanied by a “strict legal action”, which could also include the ban on the offer of future YRF films in the incriminated theater. The studio clearly indicated that these measures are not symbolic but will be implemented rigorously if violations are detected.
YRF’s warning is important in the context of the continuous battle of the film industry with income leaks, where even a small-scale sub-declaration on several screens can cause substantial losses for producers and distributors. By placing legal and financial deterrents in advance, the studio sends a strong message that it will not tolerate the professional fault, in particular for a high challenges version like War 2.
At the same time, the declaration also brought a reassuring tone for compliant exhibitors, noting that “if all the rules are respected in terms of cinema, there will be no cause of concern”. This balance between confidence and vigilance reflects YRF’s intention to protect commercial interests while maintaining healthy relationships with its long -term partners.
Later, Sun Pictures also gave a similar warning to the cinemas. Their communication has mentioned that their authorized representative will visit the cinemas to check the actual number of tickets sold, ticket prices and DCR for their film Coolie. He added that “this check includes all the tickets, without exception for friends, family or government representatives”.
The letter mentioned that people recognized guilty of professional lack will have to pay an RS penalty. 2 Lakhs. In addition, RO and KDM in this cinema Coolie will be canceled immediately.
