“Didn’t Know I Would Be Playing”: Nehal Wadhera On His Surprise Inclusion In PBKS

The beginnings of Nehal Wadhera for Punjab Kings (PBKS) this season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) were as unexpected for him that it had an impact for the team. The left -handed striker played a crucial role in the victory of pbks in eight gates on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow, marking 43 undefeated on only 25 balls, including three limits and four. However, what made his performance even more remarkable was that he did not know that he would play until a few moments before the match. “I did not know that I would play. I only brought one kit because I was sure that I would not be in the XI. Normally, I wear two – one for the stick and another for Fielding. I even came in full sleeves,” Wadhera revealed during the post -match press conference.

“Sometimes things work in your favor. If I had known it earlier, I could have gone too much … It was one of those days when I was lucky not to know that I would play, and it turned out to be lucky for me,” he added.

The first indication he could play came during the warm-up when the pbks head coach Ricky Ponting approached him.

“Ricky came to me and said to me:” If we work first, you will be in the eleven. “I was a little surprised and I continued to think:” How can I be in the XI just because we bowl first? “Maybe I thought he had made a mistake,” recalls Wadhera.

“Once the XI was announced, I realized that I was in it. That is why I started to warm up that around 11 or the 12th, knowing that I should have to be a part,” he noted.

Being a stick first, LSG was in shock at 35/3, but fighting the strokes of Nicholas Pooran (44 out of 30 balls, with five four and three six) and Ayush Badoni (41 out of 33 balls, with four and three six) and a cameo locked by Abdul Samad (27 balls out of 12 with two four and two) for LSG something for. Arshdeep was the upper melon with three counters and 3/43 figures.

Marco Jansen, Lockie Ferguson, Glenn Maxwell and Yuzvendra Chahal were also among the counters because, with the exception of a semi-century position between Pooran and Badoni for the fourth counter, nothing really managed to do LSG when they had trouble forming long partnerships.

During the race race, PBKS lost Priyansh Arya (8) early. But the power strokes of Prabhsimran Singh (69 in 34 balls, with nine four and two), the skipper Shreyas Iyer (52 * in 30 balls, with three four and four) and Nehal Wadhera (43 * in 25 balls, with three four and four) took an eight titles with 22 balls with 22 balls.

The fate of Digvesh Rathi from 2/30 in four overs was not enough. The PBKs are second place in the table of points and won two victories in two, while LSG slipped to sixth place with a victory and two defeats.
