England Great Urges BCCI To Appoint Virat Kohli As India’s Test Captain Amid Exit Talks




Time is exhausted for selectors because they have to choose a team for the next series of five -game matches from India against England. The series, which will launch in June, has already gave a lot of trouble to the selection committee while the skipper of India Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the tests. Following this, many reports have emerged indicating that the star striker Virat Kohli also seeks to hang his boots in the longest format. In the middle of all the selection chaos, the former skipper of England Michael Vaughan proposed a daring suggestion for the Indian management.

With the sudden departure of Rohit, the Indian team is looking for a new leader. By taking to X (formerly Twitter), Vaughan wrote that if he had power, he would have appointed Kohli as captain of India for tests in England.

“If I were in India, I would give the captain to Virat for the test series in England. Shubman Gill can be his VC for the tour,” wrote Vaughan on X.

A few days after the captain of India Rohit decided to end his test career, Espncricinfo reported that Kohli had communicated to the BCCI about his intention to withdraw from the format. India took place very soon on England for a series of five tests, the BCCI would have urged the player to reconsider his decision. The player, however, has not yet communicated his final decision to the board of directors.

Earlier Sunday, the former striker of India Mohammed Kaif also urged Kohli to reconsider his decision as reports on the retirement profession of his test.

“Virat Kohli, the Babbar Sher of India wants to relax. He thinks of retirement. I think he should go to England, prove his point and put an end to his career on a good note. Due to the work he has done in the T20 World Cup, he should end his career on a good note. In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter).

If Virat retires, he would mark the end of an illustrious 14 -year -old test career, during which he carried out 9,230 points in 123 tests at an average of 46.85, with 30 centuries.

He is also the most successful test captain in India, having won 40 of the 68 tests with the armband.
