Friday, the BCCI reprogrammed the IPL match between the runners of Kolkata Knight and the super giants of Lucknow from April 6 to 8 due to the Festivities of Ramanavami. Although the match will be played a few days later against the original calendar, it will be held in Kolkata itself and not in Guwahati, as shown previously. “The decision follows a request from the Kolkata police at the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) concerning the deployment of staff through the city due to festivities,” the BCCI said in a press release. “The authorities recommended that the match be moved to Tuesday April 8, 2025 at 3.30 p.m., and the request was adapted accordingly,” he added.

The president of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), Snehashish, Ganguly, had previously told PTI that they had asked the BCCI to reprogram the game.

“We informed the BCCI to reprogram the match, but there is no possibility of reprogramming the game in the city later and I hear now that it will be transferred to Gowahati,” Ganguly said on March 20.

The board of directors said that the rest of the calendar remains unchanged, which will now have only one match on April 6 (Sunday) – the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans in Hyderabad.

“Tuesday, April 8 will be a double-headed match day, featuring the KKR VS LSG match in the afternoon in Kolkata, followed by the Punjab Kings welcoming Chennai Super Kings (match n ° 22) in New Chandigarh in the evening, according to the original calendar,” added the board of directors.
