IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians Set To Sign Ex SRH, CSK Stars As Short-Term Replacements

While the Premier League Indian franchises (IPL) are waiting for several stars abroad to return to the country for the resumption of the T20 League, certain franchises have already started to develop plans for the future. While a certain number of players have decided not to return to the T20 League, after being suspended due to the Indo-Pake tensions, some will leave on May 27, according to the initial calendar of the League. To manage this delicate situation, the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) allowed the franchises to make temporary signatures to replace unavailable players.

The Indians of Mumbai, who were one of the most fit teams this campaign, would be zero in Jonny Bairstow and Richard Gleeson as these short -term replacement signatures, according to Espncriricinfo. Mi should lose Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks because of their international commitments.

While Jacks must join the England team for the ODI series against the Antilles, when the IPL 2025 qualifiers start, Rickelton was selected for the final of the ICC World Championship between South Africa and Australia.

Bairstow was part of the 2025 IPL auction but was not chosen by a single team. His arrival, however, is required to stimulate the hopes of Mi of Mi to win their 6th title IPL. Bairstow appeared for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings at IPL, marking more than 50 appearances.

Gleeson, on the other hand, was bought by the Chennai Super Kings in the 2024 IPL season. He only played 2 games for the franchise that year, marking a total of 2 points.

The loss of Rickelton and Jacks, however, will be great for Mi, given the form in which they have been in recent times. Rickelton, a counter striker, had done wonders in recent matches, while Jacks’ full performance was essential to the extraordinary MI race in the T20 League.
