IPL 2025: Shreyas Iyer Is A Calm Leader Who Empowers Bowlers, Says PBKS Pacer Kuldeep Sen

The Punjab Kings (PBKS), Kuldeep Sen, believes that the style of leadership made up of the skipper Shreyas Ier makes him a competitor of captain for the future of the Indian team. Presence of Iyer’s approach, Sen highlighted its ability to stay in pressure and give its quisors strategic qualities – qualities that played a key role in the KKR campaign last season and now in its direction at Punjab Kings. With the current IPL, there have been a lot of discussions on leadership prospects for Indian cricket. Sen weighs on the subject, in particular on Iyer. “Shreyas played an important role in stabilizing the sleeves in the middle order. It is not easy to beat in this phase, but it has managed to score crucial races. Its ability to anchor and accelerate is a big asset for the team.”

“As a captain, Shreyas’ quality is that he remains calm on the ground. I observed that even when he played for the opposition, he gave all the freedom to the quieurs, allowing them to decide how they wanted to execute their plans. It is a high quality in a leader. India has many leadership options, and if you look at Shreyas, his qualities as captain are very strong. Very cool and a great person.

Two years ago, the right arm stimulator was a quick revelation of Bowling. Collision speeds north of 140 km / h and defending 14 points against Marcus Stoinis during his IPL inception, he was presented as one of the prospects for the growing rhythm of India. But as quickly as he emerged, injuries forced him to get away. A back issue during his first ODI series against Bangladesh in December 2022, followed by a knee injury in 2024, meant that he missed domestic and IPL crucial opportunities.

Now, after fighting in fitness, the 28 -year -old is watching a new chapter. Sen, which is from the small town of Rewa of Madhya Pradesh, does not linger on lost time. He focuses on what awaits us – whether in the IPL with the kings of Punjab or in red ball cricket, his ambitions remain strong.

The stimulator spoke of his return, the training under Ricky Ponting, the impact of injuries on his career and his aspirations to put the Indian jersey again.

“I’m fine now. I just have a simple thought – I don’t really think about playing for India. I believe in my process. If my process is good, my results will be in my favor. I am just the process. Each time I will have the opportunity, I will do my best.”

This belief has been his guiding force since his return to first class cricket in January 2024. He had to wait for the Ranji trophy match of Madhya Pradesh against Kerala in February to play his first competition match of the season. Now, with the full IPL IPL, he has another opportunity to present his talent – this time with the kings of Punjab, the team that tested it for the first time before being recovered by the Royals of Rajasthan in 2022.

Having worked with some of the biggest names in the cricket, Sen is now perfecting his job under the legendary ponting to the Kings of Punjab. By comparing his experience under Rahul Dravid and the Australian legend, Sen added: “It was a great experience. Ricky Ponting is very calm and united, on and off the field. He knows how to manage the players – when to push them and when to give them rest. I learn a lot of him.”

Bowling at a high pace remains its strength, but Sen knows that Cricket T20 concerns pressure execution. “In practice sessions, our coaches give us specific objectives. We are working on different types of yorkers – the Yorkers of Moulons, the large Yorkers – and apply them in situations similar to matches. The more pressure you train, the better your execution in real matches,” he explains.

Despite his ability to play quickly, Sen had trouble finding a regular place in IPL playing Xis. He thinks that the rule of the impact player has made even more difficult for quisors like him. “It’s difficult because the teams now have additional options. But I don’t think about it too much. My job is to be ready every time I have the opportunity.”

With 14 counters in 12 IPL games so far, he has shown glimpses of his potential. Now, with the kings of Punjab, he hopes a revolutionary season. “The team made a lot of effort in the first match. Our strikers have performed well, and we took a strong start with the ball. The balance of our team is very good, with solid options both in the stick and bowling,,” he said.

Unlike many pacers who specialize in a format, Sen remains open to the three. “I did not decide on a particular format. I like T20, I like a day’s cricket, and I also played Ranji’s matches. As a player, you should be ready for any format, and I’m ready for that,” he said.

He is proud of the rapid force of India and dreams of being part of the attack on the elite rhythm. “India has no longer been a team dominated by the spin. If you watch Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami – they are world -classier. From the rhythm to the other, we have everything. It is good that Indian quick quisors happen so well.”

Asked he would favor the test cricket if we give the choice, Sen replied: “I came from red ball cricket to white ball cricket. Whenever I have the chance to play in the test team, I’m going to do my best. I’m still ready for the red ball format.”

After years of injury, recovery and returns, Sen’s prospects on his career are refreshing – control what he can and let the rest take care of himself. “I do not think too much about the selection. I believe in my process. If my process is correct, the results will follow. I focus on the best of my best every time I have the opportunity.”
