In the comments section of the publication, actress Isha Talwar spoke of an unusual hearing that was invited to play at the start of her career.
She said: “So when I started to audition for roles with Shanoo … I was told to make a scene in a restaurant called Mia Cucina on Versova, Bombay … A scene of crying in the middle of a very busy work restaurant with customers dinner next to my table. Devant / weird request… it broke my confidence as a young girl in the movies. »»
Talwar continued by saying that it believed that a hearing should be carried out in an appropriate casting space or, if necessary in a real place, you must be hired for this purpose. She added: “I remember saying that I could not do it and of course, I never got the role … But at least I did not give in to the strange request and I certainly did not cry in a restaurant for a role!”
Sharing her story “a decade later”, Talwar said that she wanted the newcomers to feel “no pressure” if they were confronted with similar situations.
Nidhi Subbaiah echoes concerns about the hearing environment
Another actress, Nidhi Subbaiah, also took the comments to think about her own experience during the Sharma casting process.
She wrote: “Shanoo is nice but I am not sure of her casting process. Was avoided and laughed at her assistants when I went for my first hearing. They continued to laugh at the way different photos come from reality while pointing out a Miss India who was with me for this hearing.”
Shanoo Sharma has not yet publicly responded to these accounts.
