Jio Studios to showcase three distinct films – Ghamasaan, Saali Mohabbat and Bun Tikki – at the 16th Chicago South Asian Film Festival : Bollywood News
Jio Studios’ continues to make a brand on the world scene with the official selection of three of his next films, Ghamasan,, Saali Mohabbat And Bun Tikki During the prestigious 16th Film Festival of Chicago South Asian (CSAFF).
JIO Studios to present three separate films – Ghamasan, Saali Mohabbat and Bun Tikki – at the 16th Film of the Southern Chicago Asia Film Festival
The films will be presented in a section specially organized “from India to the world”. This section brings together three distinct genre films which, when seen together, offer a textured portrait and in layers of India. From its deep rural roots to the complexities of its cities, these films reflect the vast spectrum of Indian ethics, resilience and evolving identity.
Taking place from September 18 to 21, 2025, the festival will see the films of Jio Studios in Spotlight through the choice niches.
Opening evening (September 19) Saali Mohabbat: This powerful drama marks the beginnings of director of Tisca Chopra, a film that takes place on the changing border between rural and urban India, where a woman in a small town is recovering from domestic violence and betrayal. The Cast set includes Radhika Apte, Anshumaan Pushkar, Dibyendu Ganguly and Anurag Kashyap. Saali Mohabbat is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and marks the production beginnings of the famous fashion stylist who has become producer Manish Malhotra.
Film of the centerpiece (September 20) Ghamasan: Directed by the famous filmmaker Tigmananshu Dhulia, Ghamasan Takes us to the heart of the country with a tense rural thriller that talks about the roots of India and the rise of a young nation that is still negotiating with its past. The film features Pratik Gandhi, Arshad Warsi and Ishita Dutta in hinged roles. Ghamasan is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Piiyush Singh, Ashwini Chaudhary, Abhayanand Singh and Saurabh Gupta.
Film Marque (September 21) Bun Tikki: This poignant drama takes us to urban India, capturing the confusion, tenderness and the silent courage of a young child and those around him while they are struggling with questions of identity. The film features the legends Shabana Azmi and Zeenat Aman with Abhay Deol alongside and Nushrratt Bharuccha and Rohaan Singh. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Dinesh Malhotra, Marijke Desousa and Manish Malhotra, Bun Tikki Also the beginning of the director’s feature film, Faraz Arif Ansari.
