The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) received a big boost, because a report confirmed Josh Hazlewood’s desire to return to the franchise for the rest of the season of the Indian Premier (IPL). Although it is not immediately, Hazlewood should join his teammates during the month of May, when the season extends until June 03 due to the recent military conflict between India and Pakistan. Earlier, it was said that Hazlewood undergoes an injury that would not allow him to join RCB when the season resumed on May 17. But many things have changed in recent days.

“Josh is preparing to arrive in India by the end of last week (in May). He will be available for the franchise for the playoffs”. Hindustan time cited a source as saying.

There was a dilemma on the availability of Mitchell Starc for the remaining season. Starc has not yet officially confirmed if he would join Delhi’s capitals for remaining IPL 2025 matches. The franchise has already signed a stimulator of the left arm, Mustafizur Rahman, replacing the opening of the Jake-Fraser McGurk striker, who confirmed his unavailability for the remaining campaign.

Now the franchise would have learned that Starc would not come back either.

“Starc informed DC’s management that he would not return. The franchise has accepted his decision,” a source told the publication.

The BCCI said on Monday that it had decided to take over the league after organizing in -depth consultations and obtained the necessary authorizations of the government, pushing the final on June 3 from May 25 scheduled.

The revised calendar leaves a short time of execution for the Australian and South African players, who decide to participate in the IPL qualifiers, to prepare for the final of the World Championship (WTC), which begins the Lord from June 11.

The BCCI, in order to counter the situation, allowed the franchises to make temporary replacement signatures.
