At the heart of the dispute is a desire of March 2025 which would leave all the personal assets of Kapur to his third wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur. The document, however, has neither recorded nor its survey, and the child’s legal team alleges the abolition and counterfeiting. The High Court of Delhi led the disclosure of the presumed will, as well as a full report of the assets of Sunjay Kapur on June 12, 2025.
Jethmalani said the case does not concern the monetary advantages of RK Family Trust, but to ensure a fair inheritance for children. He stressed: “This dispute is to secure the future of children of Sunjay Kapur and ensure fair access to the assets held in India and abroad.”
The courtroom has also heard allegations from Priya Sachdev Kapur’s lawyer that children had already received Rs. 1,900 crores via the RK Family Trust. The sources, however, reveal that this figure only reflects the value of the Sona Comstar actions always held in the trust, on which children have no control. The real access to these assets remains with Priya Sachdev Kapur.
Jethmalani underlined the imbalance, noting that even if the Rs. The figures of 1,900 crores are accepted, on Rs. 28,000 crores remain under the control of Priya. “Would it have a good part of this fortune? It should be understood that this dispute is to ensure that the five class 1 heirs, including the two children of Karisma and Sunjay Kapur, receive fair access to his succession,” he explained.
To date, the children of Karisma Kapoor have not received a copy of the will, or clarity on the personal succession of their father. The current legal battle has triggered broader questions about transparency, equity and children’s rights in high -level inheritance disputes.
