KKR Star Varun Chakravarthy Makes His Wicket-Target Clear For IPL 2025: “Virat Kohli And…”

Kolkata Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Varun Chakravarthy is looking forward to winning the counters of the captain of India Rohit Sharma and the Vedette Virat Kohli in the IPL 2025 in progress. Asked about the strikers he would like to reject the most in IPL 2025, Chakravarthy appointed his teammates, including the legendary duo of strikers of Rohit and Kohli among others. “Certainly any drummer who is in great shape. Players like Heinrich Klaan, Nicholas Pooran, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav-These guys are all star players. I would be very happy if I could choose their counters,” he said on the special Jiohotstar ‘show.

The Spinner, which has won three counters in two games so far, will have the chance to seize the counters of Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav when they will face Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede stadium on Monday.

The 33-year-old man was in exceptional form after finishing as the second highest flacked flag holder in the reigning champions trophy in India in Dubai earlier this month. He was also part of KKR’s triumph in the last edition of the League rich in cash.

Thinking about his learnings of the season, Chakravarthy said: “The lesson is that you can have a big previous tournament, but again, you have to start from scratch. This is what Cricket teaches you. You can have fantastic two or three tournaments, but in the next one, you have to start from scratch. So, that’s what I am preparing – from zero.”

Discussing his approach to critical situations at stake, Chakravarthy shared wisdom won by playing high pressure matches.

“What I have learned so far is to keep things very simple-do not try to do something very different, do not try to play a magic ball or create a magical moment. The most impactful thing you can do is to stick to your bases, to do them well and to execute them properly,” he said.

As one of KKR’s key hiding places, the spinner has spoken of the management of expectations that come with IPL. “The expectations have always been there from the first game I played, and it is not only for me-it is for each IPL cricket player. It’s like that; it is an integral part of playing competitive cricket. So you just have to focus on your process and not think too far,” he said.

One of the strongest duets of KKR, Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine has developed a strong understanding over the years. Recognizing the impact of Narine on her growth in KKR, Chakravarthy said: “Now that I have played five years next to him – it’s my sixth year with him – we no longer need to communicate as much. He doesn’t have to make a spoon to me. All I can learn, I can just observe what he does.

“Of course, if I have doubts, I always go up to him and talk to him. We have always played in tandem well, and he was the most precious player in T20 cricket from the very beginning. Even this year, he will be the MVP.”
