KKR Star Venkatesh Iyer’s Indirect Swipe At SRH, Says “Aggressing Doesn’t Mean Tonking Every Ball”

Venkatesh Iyer defined what the assault means for him and the Kolkata Knight Riders after having exceeded Sunrisers Hyderabad in free score with a full show in the current edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at Eden Gardens emblematic. The record signature of reigning champions, Venkatesh, launched the 18th edition of the League rich in cash with a series of low scores. During his first two outings, the KKR vice-captain recorded only 3 and 6 before breaking the chains against the Sunrisers.
After the dismissal of Angkrish Raghuvanshi, the Knight Riders won 106/4 in the 13th. Venkatesh increased the bet and pulled a 60 of 29 deliveries at a typing rate of 206.90, dotted with seven limits and three imposing maximums.
His unique effort, combined with the burning 32 * of Rinku Singh, raised the champions in title to 200/6, a total of 80 points better than what visitors could achieve.
“It is very important for us to show a positive but correct intention. If we are 50/6 and I always go everything, it is positive, but it is not correct. The assault does not mean that Tonking every ball for six,” he told journalists at the post-match press conference.
“It is a question of knowing how you understand the conditions and how you are able to maximize the conditions in your favor. And this is what the assault is. We do not want to be the team that marks 250 when we play well, and when we are not, we go out for 70. We want to be a team that understands the field and the conditions quickly. To assess the peer score and try to do 20 races above,” he added.
Despite a total competition on the board, Venkatesh admitted that they did not feel too comfortable, especially against prolific Sunrisers. He praised Vaibhav Arora for his fate of the player of the match in the power game which changed the tides in their favor.
“Even after marking 220, we sometimes think they can chase it,” he said. “But we have always known that a team that is ultra-aggressive always includes the risk of getting counters. This is what we wanted to exploit. We have Vaibhav Arora, which is part of the PowerPlay to choose the counters, and he did this. A team that also touches each ball.
Vaibhav shook the first order of Hyderabad in the power game, removing the explosive Southpaws Travis Head (4) and Ishan Kishan (2) at a lower cost. He returned to the attack in the middle of the Overs and exceeded the dangerous Heinrich Klaan to return with 3/29 figures.
Vaibhav’s influential fate put the tempo for Kolkata as they passed the Sunrisers to win a comfortable 80 -point victory and move in fifth place with four points.
