The Punjab Kings appreciated the fruits of a fantastic effort of bowling in the power game while the Super Giants of Lucknow posted a parking lot of 171 for 7 on a delicate surface of the Ekana stadium in an IPL match on Monday.
On a track that seemed to two rhythms with a variable rebound, the Kings of the Kings of Punjab led by the always dependable Arshdeep Singh eliminated the first order in the first six Overs and the contributions of Nicholas Poornan in shape (44 out of 30) and Ayush Badoni (41 OFF 33 balls) was not enough to put a difficult score on board.
The Punjab bowling performance on Monday was the perfect definition to do so in unison while the Glenn Maxwell (1/22 in 3 Overs) and Yuzvendra Chahal (1/36 in 4 Overs) supplied the Pacers Lockie Ferguson (1/26 in 3 Overs), Arsheep (3/43 in 4 Overs) and Marco Jansen (1/28 in 4 Overs).
Credit should also be granted to the skipper Shreyas Iyer, whose smart courses in the field also assured that the LSG never controlled the situation.
On a track, where some deliveries were captivating and a strange bullet rebounded a little more, only Pooran looked comfortable against pacers and spinners.
