The filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, recipient of the National Award and Padma Shri, should explore the world of Bollywood in his next project, The wives.
Madhur Bhandarkar begins to film women in Mumbai
Announced earlier this year, the film – Firing Sonali Kulkarni, Mouni Roy, Regina Cassandra, Rahul Bhatt, Sarabh Sachdeva, Arjan Bajwa and Freddy Daruwala – began to film today in Mumbai.

Bhandarkar, known for films such as Chandni bar,, Page 3,, Fashion,, Heroin,, Traffic signalAnd Babli’s bouncerWho explore the complexities under glamorous surfaces, now turns his attention to the life of Bollywood Star wives – a world marked by luxury, intrigue and behind the scenes rarely seen by the public.
With years of experience in the narration, Bhandarkar continues to explore the less visible aspects of the entertainment industry. In this film, he focuses on personal and social life behind glamor, offering a more in -depth examination of the world of the inner Bollywood circle through his characteristic attention to details and realism.
The wives also mark the second collaboration of Bhandarkar with producer Pranav Jain of PJ Motion Pictures, after their successful lockdown project in India which won Hearts with its direct-ott exit.
