One day before the planned release of Bengal files On September 5, producer-actor Pallavi Joshi published an open letter to President Droupadi Murmu, alleging that the owners of multiplex of Western Bengal refused to exhibit the film and request the intervention to protect constitutional rights.

Sharing the letter on Instagram, Pallavi subtitled it as: “Urgent calls on your excellence, @presidentofindia, as a producer of #ThebengalfilesI am painful that the multiplex chains in Bengal refused the release of the film under political pressure and threats of the ruling party. I plead for your intervention to maintain my constitutional rights and ensure its release in Bengal. »»
Sharing the letter on Instagram, Joshi wrote: “The president of Madame respected, with a heavy heart, I contact you, not for favors, but for protection. Bengal filesThe last part of the file trilogy is released on September 5. He tells the long truth of the Hindu genocide of the day of direct action, the horrors of Noakhali and the trauma of the partition. But in Western Bengal, the truth is besieged. Years before completion, the chief minister made fun of the film. Since then, FIRs without foundation have been deposited, our trailer has been blocked by the police and even the newspapers avoid carrying advertisements. My family is threatened every day by political parties. Now the theater owners have told us that they were intimidated, threatened and refuse to detect it, fearing the violence of the workers of the ruling party. There is no official ban, but an unofficial ban silenced the film before people can see it. »»
She continued: “The legendary actor, Padma Bhushan Victor Banerjee, as well as many Bengalia organizations in India and abroad, have already asked you. Their support proves that the truth always has allies. Bengal files is the cry of Maa Bharati, marked but uninterrupted, a story of survival and hope. As a woman who has gone from margins to the highest constitutional function, only you can really understand what to support such pain and transform it into a goal. It is the cinema of truth. But the truth also needs protection. Madame President, I am not looking for a favor for a film but a space for art, for the truth, for the soul of Maa Bharati to speak without fear. You are my last hope. Please protect our constitutional law and let Bengal files be presented in Western Bengal peacefully. »»
Casting Bengal files Includes Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Simrat Kaur, Saswata Chatterjee, Namashi Chakraborty, Rajesh Khera, Puneet Issar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Surav Das and Mohan Kapur.
Recently, an event of launching the trailer for the film took place in Kolkata, but was interrupted unexpectedly when the Kolkata police stopped the projection halfway, adding to the increasing controversy surrounding its release in the state.
