The incident, captured in videos that have surfaced on social networks in the past two days, shows that the crew is attacked during the shooting on site. AICWA’s statement has strongly condemned the attack, wondering how filmmakers, actors and technicians can risk their lives in an environment where law and order are obviously compromised. The association said: “If the Uttar Pradesh government cannot ensure security and security for those who have engaged in film production, then what is the aim of promoting Noida Film City as a shooting center?”
Stressing the severity of the situation, AICWA highlighted the potential impact on the image of the Uttar Pradesh and the broader film industry. “Prayagraj is known throughout the world for the history of Kumbh Mela, a symbol of the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of India. But incidents like this make the image of the city on the world scene. Instead of remembering peace, faith and culture, Prayagraj is now making the big titles for anarchy and the attacks against the artists of cinema”, indicates the declaration.
The association made three urgent requests, in particular the immediate recording of a FIR against the disbelievers involved in violence, the strict and infallible security measures for all filming film in the Uttar Pradesh, and the restoration of the faith between producers, actors and technicians to ensure that the cinematographic city of Noida does not lose its position as a secure destination. Aicwa’s call was also directed against the chief minister, Shri Yogi Adityanath, urging strict action to prevent such shameful incidents and reassure the fraternity of the film on their security in the state.
