PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Appointed New President Of Asian Cricket Council

Mohin Naqvi, president of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), was appointed new president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Naqvi was elected new ACC president at an online meeting on Thursday and will immediately take matters into hand. “I am deeply honored to assume the presidency of the Asian Cricket Council. Asia remains the heart rate of global cricket, and I undertake to work with all member advice to accelerate the growth of the game and the global influence. ”
“Together, we will unlock new opportunities, promote greater collaboration and adopt Asian cricket at unprecedented tops. I also sincerely thank the ACC president for his leadership and contributions to ACC during his mandate,” Naqvi said in a statement.
Naqvi, who has been president of the PCB since February 2024, will serve as president of the AC for two years and will succeed Shammi Silva, the president of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). “It was a privilege to serve as president of the Asian Cricket Council. The constant commitment of our members of members working together was essential in the elevation of the stature of ACC throughout the region. ”
“I bring my gratitude to my predecessor, Mr. Jay Shah, president of the ICC, under which the leaders have reached important stages – including the guarantee of the greatest value for the commercial rights of the ACC Asian Cup, the introduction of a new structure of track events and to open the way to the continuous development of cricket in Asia.”
“While I resign, I have fully confidence that, under the leadership capable of Mr. Naqvi, acclaiming him his remarkable and prosperous career,” said Silva, who was recently re -elected president of the SLC.
ACC has also declared that Naqvi, who is also the Interior Minister of the Pakistani government, brings a visionary approach focused on unity, innovation and strategic growth, strengthening the position of Asia as the epicenter of global cricket as president of ACC.
“Under its leadership, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is impatiently awaiting a dynamic and collaborative future, with an improved commitment to development programs, the commitment of young people and the elevation of the global importance of Asian cricket,” he added.
