Prajakta Koli is deeply affected by growing violence and disorders in Nepal, visuals and disturbing relationships leaving her saddened. She has chosen to cancel her scheduled trip to the country and expressed her solidarity with those who suffer from the crisis.

Prajakta shared his concern and his sorrow on Tuesday, on Tuesday of the disorders in progress in Nepal thanks to an Instagram story. In her note, she transmitted her thoughts and extended solidarity with those affected by the situation.
Prajakta wrote: “What happened in Nepal yesterday is really heartbreaking. Any form of celebration at such a moment is inappropriate. My heart goes to the families of those who suffered. I was really impatient to be there and meet everyone, but now is not the right time. I hope I will see you very soon.”
The upheavals in Nepal arise from the demonstrations carried out by the Z generation triggered by the government’s decision to close the popular social media platforms so as not to register with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies. This decision sparked generalized anger rooted in longtime issues of corruption, nepotism and economic marginalization of young people.
Despite the government’s efforts to reverse the ban on social media, the demonstrators remain unattractive. Several sites of authority, including the Parliament, the president’s office, the Prime Minister’s residence, the Supreme Court and the party’s headquarters were burnt down. A particularly tragic incident resulted in the death of Rajyalaxmi Chitrakar, wife of former Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal. In the midst of the crisis, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned and the Nepalese army took control of security operations.
In solidarity with the people affected, Prajakta’s decision underlines the seriousness of the situation on the ground. His message is a poignant expression of empathy and restraint at a time when “any form of celebration seems inappropriate”.
