Rohit Sharma Not Part Of Mumbai Indians’ 1st Playing XI vs KKR In IPL 2025. Here’s The Reason

Former skipper Rohit Sharma was downgraded to the substitutes when the Mumbai Indians won the draw and chose to play the first against Kolkata Knight Riders in match 12 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Wankhede stadium on Monday. While Rohit was relegated to the role of the impact substitute, the Mumbai Indians brought Will Jacks and also made a start to the designer of the left arm Ashwani Kumar. Vignesh Puthur has also found a place in the game game and most likely give way to Rohit Sharma when MI launches his pursuit.

KKR, as expected, brought back Sunil Narine in the XI in place of Moeen Ali. Narine had withdrawn from their last match against the Royals of Rajasthan due to a disease.

Explaining the justification behind the choice of Field first, the skipper of the Indians of Mumbai, Hardy Pandya, said that they wanted to make the first use of the first counter and extract the early swing, with a dew that should go into play later in the evening.

Pandya plays Mumbai by losing the first two games and says it’s a long tournament. He hoped that things would take a look at his team tonight and said they should play a better cricket if they did.

Captain Ajinkya Rahane of Kolkata Knight Riders, Ajinkya Rahane, would also have liked to make a bowl first, but was a little uncertain. So he estimated that it was a good draw to lose. He said they had a good bowlingal attack to defend a total.
