The acclaimed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali faces a legal controversy after the filing of a FIR against him and two members of his team in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The complaint, filed on Monday, September 1, by line producer Prateek Taj Mathur, alleys fraud, bad behavior and the violation of confidence.

According to the officer of the Vishal Jangid circle, Mathur said he was hired as a line producer for the next Bhansali film Love and warBut his contract was then suddenly canceled, revealed a PTI report. He alleged that Bhansali, as well as the producers Arvind Gill and Utkarsh Bali, withdrew him from the project without paying it, despite his adoption of multiple responsibilities during production.
Mathur said in the FIR that he had organized all the resources necessary for filming and coordinated with government services if necessary. However, when he tried to meet the Bhansali team in a hotel, he would have met bad behavior and disrespect. The FIR was recorded under accusations of fraud, criminal conspiracy and criminal intimidation, and Bichhwal Sho Govind Singh Charan is currently investing in the issue.
The FIR raises serious questions about the internal treatment of production responsibilities and the professional conduct of people involved in the project. Currently, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his team have not published an answer concerning allegations.
Love and warDirected by Bhansali, is an epic saga with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the main roles. The film would be presented to Ranbir and Vicky as Indian Air Force pilots. Several parts of the film were recently shot in Rajasthan. According to the latest reports, it was learned that a visual of the film should be unveiled on September 28 of Ranbir Kapoor, although it is not confirmed that it is a first poster or a teaser featuring the three actors. The film is planned for a theatrical release in March 2026.
The FIR is now recorded and the current survey, the legal dispute has thrown a shadow on the production of what should be one of the most anticipated films of 2026.
