Actor-filmmaker-activist Sonu Sood, who made a huge impact as a philanthropist during the COVID endemic, is all set to direct a new film, this time based on the socio-political scenario of Bihar.
Sonu Sood’s upcoming action film as director and actor is based in Bihar.
Speaking exclusively about it, Sonu Sood said, “I have just finished writing the film. Apart from playing the lead role, I will also be directing the film. So it is an action film. I will definitely announce it in a big way since Bihar is a state close to my heart. I grew up in Bihar and have studied the dynamics of the state closely.”
But Sonu Sood doesn’t like to do documentary-style political dramas. “I have chosen the world of Bihar this time for its dramatic potential, and it will definitely be an action film. Something that we all will be proud of. We have already been working for the last 7-8 months on the details of the film. Now I will make a big announcement very very soon and obviously I will call you first.”
Sonu’s last directorial was a realistic action film Fatah. He has his own vision of the viability of a film and the audience. “Sir, I don’t look at cinema as just a money-making machine. Of course, I want my films to do well. Who doesn’t want success? But for me, the audience is not just an audience for my film. It’s my extended family. Bahot gehra rishta hai hamara unke saath. I don’t look at it as a profit machine.”
During the COVID pandemic, Sonu Sood has helped thousands of people by providing transportation to their homes, medicines, emergency oxygen surgery, financial assistance, education, and more.
