The Government KHELO India flagship program to find and feed the athletes at the local level was the largest beneficiary, because the sports allowance was considerably increased by RS 351.98 crosses in the Union budget presented by the Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday. The ambitious regime was allocated to 1,000 roasters for exercise 2025-26. It is Rs 200 crosses more than the granting of RS 800 crore in 2024-25. Overall, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs was appointed RS 3,794.30 crosses, a global jump of Rs 351.98 crores.
The increase is substantial since there is no major sporting event such as the Olympic Games, Commonwealth or Asian Games lined up over the next year.
The amount allocated to aid to national sports federations was also marginally from Rs 340 crosses to Rs 400 crore.
India is currently going with an ambitious offer to accommodate the 2036 Olympic Games for which a letter of intent was submitted to the International Olympic Committee.
