SRH Captain Pat Cummins Sends Huge Message After Loss Against DC: “Too Early…”

Sunrisers captain Hyderabad, Pat Cummins, does not lose sleep for consecutive losses after their explosive start for IPL 2025, insisting that he is “too early to worry”. SRH set fire to fire by raising 286/6 against the Royals of Rajasthan, but then lost against Lucknow super-managers by five counters in their place of origin before undergoing a defeat at seven titles against the Capitals of Delhi on Sunday. “It is too early to worry about being two down, I hope we will come back in the future, as I said, we have to take a look at some of our options. Perhaps we just need to do one or two things would change,” said Cummins during the post-match presentation ceremony.
“Overall, guys have shown glimpses of what they can do, don’t think we will change too much.” The Australian skipper admitted that the fight of the higher order and the selection of strikers of the upper order became their loss.
“We did not start, we did not get scoring on the board. Some bad shots, but the catches in the depths occur in this format of the game.
“I don’t think it’s a big margin, another day, you go with a few shots, everything did not go in the last two games, we can look back and think of different options.” If there had not been for the blow of 74 points of Ankiet Verma, SRH would have had trouble crossing 150.
“Coming to the tournament, everyone was super impressed by him (Aniker) before the tournament, was fantastic and gave us half a chance, was impressive with the way he did things (during the net sessions and the training games).” It was his Australian partner Mitchell Starc, who breathed the upper order of the SRH on the way to a five -counters’ sensational transport.
The left arm stimulator attributed the team’s full effort for the victory.
“It was a good day. With the balloon, on the field and with the bat. It was a fantastic performance by us today. There is no ego in the questions these days.
“As a bowling player, you have to think about the box. You have to do things that you wouldn’t do normally. It was nice to contribute to the victory today, we are moving forward from here,” said Starc.
“The guys know what I’m going to do, so you have to go out of the beaten track. As an older player, you have to find different ways to get hitters out. I tried to make different bullets today, was quite effective, I think.
“It’s a new set of players, they were fantastic. You can play with new guys, it’s a big group of players. It’s a nice group to be fair, looking forward to playing more with them.” Delhi Capitals Axar Patel skipper was happy that their plans work today.
“You have to hear yourself with your game. You cannot easily take a game, there are 10 good teams while playing. We have to focus on our plans and our processes. Today we have managed to do it.
“The plan was to give Starc two overs at the start and two overs at the end, but it was in good pace. Therefore, I gave him the third and he was able to choose an important window,” he said, explaining the justification behind giving a longer Starc spell.
“We have experienced players in the team, they give me suggestions. Sometimes I follow them. Loved to play with these players. We have been playing Kotla for many years, we will have similar plans. We have to assess the conditions after going.”
