His children, Samaira and Kiaan, approached the High Court of Delhi to request a part of the inheritance, raising questions about the authenticity of a will presented by the third wife of Sunjay, Priya Sachdev Kapur. The legal battle continues to take place, with important implications for the inheritance and assets of the family.

The court noted: “Once I record the prosecution, the doctrine of Lis will apply.” The children of Karisma Kapoor, represented by their mother, alleged that Priya Kapur had forged the will of Sunjay Kapur to take total control of his assets.

Discussing for the complainants, the main lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani argued that the will had not been disclosed earlier, was not recorded and had been read “in haste” at the Taj hotel. He also underlined the “suspicious circumstances”, noting that the executor would have become aware of the will one day before and that his disclosure came by an employee of the family.

The main lawyer Rajiv Nayar, representative of Priya Kapur, at stake that the prosecution was not maintained. He argued that the complainants were already beneficiaries under the trust and had received assets with a value of 1,900 roots of rupee just a few days before the deposit of the case.

“It is not as if these people were left in the street. I am a widow with a six -year -old child. For 15 years, they were nowhere,” Nayar told court. Responding to a bench question, he confirmed that the will was in their possession, presented it to Jyoti Singh judge for inspection and expressed the preparation to share it with the complainants, subject to a non-disclosure agreement.

Meanwhile, Sunjay Kapur’s mother Rani Kapur, represented by the main lawyer Vaibhav Gaggar, also expressed objections. “There is something ungodly. I am 80 years old and I worry about my grandchildren. A confidence put in place by me has nothing for me? Despite repeated letters, I have never received a copy of The Will,” she said.
