The director, addressing NDTV, said: “They made 150 cups in my film. We have made several cycles of the Censorship Council office for at least two months. This film does not concern any religion or faith, it is ideology and truth. ”

Responding to current criticisms, Shrine added: “First of all, how can people assume what’s in the film without watching it? Second, I submitted the film to the Indian censorship council, not to anyone else. People who protest against the film will not decide whether the film will be released or not.

The film is based on the June 2022 incident during which Kanhaiya Lal was killed by two men in his sewing shop in the Udaipur Hathipole region. The accused would have done the murder after the victim shared a position perceived as reprehensible on social networks. The incident had sparked a widespread reaction across the country at the time.

According to a PTI report, a petition was tabled before the High Court of Delhi to request a suspension at the release of the film, citing concerns about its potential impact on community harmony and public order. The case should be heard today.
