In a conversation with Asianet News, Urvashi strongly expressed his opinion that the performance of Vijayaraghavan in the film Malayalam Pookkaalam deserved greater recognition than the best support actor.
“Vijayaraghavan is such a big actor. What exactly has the jury considered to distinguish the performance of Vijayaraghavan and Shah Rukh Khan? How did you become a support player and the other the best actor? On what criteria?” she interviewed.
She stressed that the two actors brought decades of experience on the screen and that such decisions should not be influenced by the budget or the production scale. “We must raise such questions, because we also contribute to citizens who contribute to citizens,” added Urvashi, referring to the need for transparency and equity in the jury process.
