Veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao passes away at 83 in Hyderabad : Bollywood News

The actor of renowned Telugu and former deputy Kota Srinivasa Rao died Sunday at the age of 83. He breathed his last at his residence in Hyderabad, leaving behind an inheritance covering more than four decades in Indian cinema.

Known for his impeccable performances in genres, Rao had played in more than 750 films in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. His versatility allowed him to represent a wide range of roles – emblematic villains with memorable roles. Films like Pratighatana, aha naa pellanta, shiva, And Mahatma has cemented its reputation for one of the best actors in Telugu cinema.
Born in Vijayawada, Kota Srinivasa Rao began his professional life as a banker and theater artist before entering films in the late 1970s. Over the years, he has become a beloved figure in the industry, gaining distinctions, including the Padma Shri in 2015 for his contribution to the arts. 5.
In addition to acting, Rao was active in politics and was a deputy for the constituency of Vijayawada East from 1999 to 2004, representing the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party.
