Barcelona coach Hansi Flick warned his Champions League rivals that his team is still trying to improve after defeating Borussia Dortmund 4-0 on Wednesday. The Catalans set foot in the semi-finals with the first stage of last year’s finalists at the Olympic stadium. Barça is the best scorers in the competition with 36 goals and their dynamic attack trio of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal Strike Fear in the hearts of opponents.
“I want to continue to improve today we have seen some points that we can improve,” Flick told journalists.
“We are going to analyze this game and I will tell players that they have done very well, but there are still things to improve.
“I am very happy with the result today, but this is only the first step.”
Raphinha scored his 12th goal in the Champions League of the season – he is the top scorer in the competition – and added two assists.
The Brazilian has 19 direct contributions this season in Europe, equaling the record of the former Grand Lionel Messi for the club.
“I always thought he was an extraordinary player … The team is fixed on his shoulders, his dynamism,” said the coach.
His opposite number Niko Kovac was disappointed with Dortmund’s performance.
“It was a deserved defeat (but), we could have obtained a goal, because we all know that the return leg will be very difficult,” said coach Kovac.
“I am optimistic but I must be realistic … It was a very big result, our chances of passing are minimal.
“We know that it will be difficult, but we must have a spark of hope, because without this spark, it will be impossible.”
