Indian Superbike League Launched, Ushers A New Era In Indian Motorsports

The long -awaited Indian Superbike League (ISBL) was officially launched on March 17 in an event in Mumbai, inaugurated a new era in Indian motorsport. The league, sanctioned by the Federation of India Automobile Sports Clubs (FMSCI), will bring professional motorcycles to the Indian public with a vision of transforming motor sport in India and “Get India Racing”. The inaugural season is expected to take place this year, subject to operational preparation, in three laps in Chennai, Bengaluru and Pune-Mumbai, with additional details to announce in due time.
One of the main investors of the Indian Superbike League is the Dhuleva group, led by Mr. Avi Jain. Ducati will be one of the motorcycle suppliers whose machines will be used in the league.
The launch event has brought together important figures from the motorsport industry, including Mr. Arindam Ghosh, president of FMSCI; Mr. Vicky Chandhok, member of the Council and former president of FMSCI, MM Dastur, president of the FMSCI 2-Wheeler Racing Commission; Mr. Bipul Chandra, Director General of Ducati India; and Mr. Sirish Vissa, director of ISBL.
With a vision of exploiting local talents and raising the country’s motorsport ecosystem, the ISBL, a league based on the franchise, will offer several motorcycle lessons alongside the exemplary race infrastructure. The ISBL plans to establish a structured path so that cyclists demonstrate their potential on the national scene. The league will have each franchise in competition in all categories, in particular:

Speaking about the vision of the League, Mr. Pranav Bakre, director of the Indian Superbike League, said: “The Indian Superbike League is designed to be a transformative force in Indian motorsport. More than 400 runners have already registered in Isbl, highlighting a strong traction for a high caliber race championship.
The four -wheeled motorsport ecosystem in India has a structured path so that drivers can get the necessary experience and exposure to the transition to the international scene, but similar opportunities in motorcycles are limited.
