33 Runs In 1 Over: CSK Coach Explains Why MS Dhoni Went With Khaleel Ahmed vs RCB In 19th Over

Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming supported Khaleel Ahmed stimulator at the forefront despite 33 points in 19th against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, but said they would explore more options in the Indian Premier League. The CSK skipper, MS Dhoni, turned to Ahmed despite the impressive Anshul Kamboj (3-0-25-0) having one on remaining, but the left arm was resulting under the assault by Romario Shepherd. “Khaleel has done very well for us this season, so there is no reason why MS has changed this. Kamboj develops well.

Until Shepherd pursues him, Ahmed had in fact the greatest number of points in this IPL at 110, three more than Mohammed Siraj.

Fleming then discussed the lack of big runs which give overtime after the 10 bar in the CSK sleeves while pursuing 214, while its side was 211 for five, failing only two points.

“If there was a big one, we would have won, but they played well. We knew there would be an escalation towards the end, but we maintained a fairly good rate.

“And then when he summed up the company, it was only a safe shots. Of course, we would have liked to have a big one with 10 letters to go, but that did not happen,” he said.

However, the former Kiwi skipper saw some light points in the emergence of certain young players despite the leak of defeats this season for the Super Kings.

“It was a much better performance, but just a few areas where we lost the concentration and they jumped, especially in the last two letters of the implementation effort.

“And then we fought very well. This is one of our difficulties this year, but there were some individual performance of which we are really proud,” he noted.

Fleming then reiterated that CSK will seek to build a young basic unit with future editions of the League to the Spirit, but without sacrificing experience in their ranks.

“Since our season has been difficult, we always seek to revise and move forward. So, even if it feels unhappiness and sadness, we strip the proofs and bring the evidence to present a good argument for a good team next year.

“But we always appreciate the experience. If you watch the statistics of the tournament, you will see many players who present experienced players, so this is the balance we are looking for. We have made good earnings in there,” he explained.

But Fleming was not hidden from the fact that the Trend of the CSK collapsed to defeats in tight matches hurt for all the people involved in the franchise.

“It weighs heavy. We have great expectations on us. All those involved in the auction for the daily training of the team hurt.

“This is not what you have planned. You look a bit behind you, what we could have done better, and it is simply natural.

“But we are also looking firmly to make sure we can make earnings in the next three games and be in a position that we can better compete next year,” he said.
