49-Member Contingent To Represent India At Special Olympics World Winter Games

India will be represented by a contingent of 49 members at the special winter games of the 2025 Olympic Games, which will be held in Turin, Italy, from March 8 to 15. The quota includes 30 athletes and 19 support employees, who will participate through six disciplines – Alpine skiing, cross -country skiing, floor ball, short speed and snowshoe skating. The 12th edition of the World Special Olympic Games Games will include eight disciplines and should attract more than 1,500 athletes, 621 coaches and 1,000,000 spectators from 102 countries.
Additional special programs, including the Special Summit of the Global Leadership Olympic Games, projections of healthy athletes and the training program on motor activities will also be organized for athletes, families and spectators during the event.
India has won 167 medals over the years in these matches, including 73 gold medals, 49 silver and 45 bronze in various disciplines.
“I would like to exercise my best wishes to the athletes … Their hard work and their dedication inspire us all, and we are impatient to attend their animated performances in Turin,” said the president of the special Olympic Games Bharat Dr Mallika Nadda.
