Sikandar: IMPPA condemns piracy, calls for stricter action against illegal streaming : Bollywood News

The Indian Association of Film Producers (ImpPa) has published an official declaration strongly condemning the hacking of SikandarThe highly anticipated action thriller with Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Sharman Joshi and Kajal Aggarwal. The film, directed by Ar Murugadoss, was disclosed online in high definition (HD) a few hours before its official theatrical release on March 30, 2025, causing significant financial losses to industry.

The IMMPA expressed profound with regard to the recurring question of film Piracy, stressing that it continues to constitute a serious threat to the entertainment sector, affecting producers, distributors and theater owners. The association pointed out that online platforms not authorized, in particular Telegram and X, facilitated the illegal distribution of films despite repeated warnings and actions. “Imppa has always raised concerns about platforms like X and Telegram which facilitate unauthorized streaming and distribution of films. Despite repeated efforts with the authorities concerned, these platforms continue to operate uncontrolled, daringly and without fear on social media, the free availability of these films on their platforms” authorities to take an action in rupture.
Stressing the broader implications, the ImpPa stressed the importance of government intervention to curb hacking. “The unauthorized release of Sikandar is not only a financial setback; It is an attack on creative efforts and the dedication of the whole cinematic community. We urge all stakeholders, including the central government and the state, the police and cybercrime agencies and digital platforms, to work together to strengthen legal frameworks and apply more strict anti-piratorship measures to prevent such illegal activities in the future. »»
The association has also made a direct appeal to an audience, urging them to support the film industry by watching films through legitimate chains. “We also call on the public to support the film industry by refraining from engaging in hacking. It is only through collective action that we can protect the future of Indian cinema and ensure that filmmakers continue to create and deliver quality content without fear of illegal exploitation. ”
The leak of Sikandar Follows a growing trend in Bollywood films which are practical to hack despite strict legal frameworks. Notorious platforms such as Tamilrockers, Movielz, Filmyzilla and various telegram groups made the full film available for illegal download and streaming shortly before its official release. The reports suggest that the leak probably comes from camcorder recordings inside theaters, which were then improved to HD quality and broadcast online in a few hours.
