Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma Retained In Highest Category Of BCCI Central Contracts




The captain of the female team of India Harmanpreet Kaur, his assistant Smriti Mandhana and his versatile Deepti Sharma were kept on Monday in Grade A, the highest category of central contracts offered by the BCCI. The Renuka Thakur stimulator, the versatile Jemimah Rodrigues, the counter Richa Ghosh and the opener Shafali Verma managed to keep their Grade B contracts. The Orthodox launcher of the left arm Rajeshwari Gaikwad, which was in grade B last year, did not find a place this season. Young Off-Spinner Shreyanka Patil, Fast Bowlers Titas Sadhu and Arundhati Reddy, the versatile Amanjot Kaur and the counter Uma Chetry obtained their first central contracts because they were included in the grade C along Yastika Bhatia, Radha Yadav, Amanjot Kaur, Uma CHETRY Rana and Pooja Vastakar.

A woman cricket player in category A wins Rs 50 Lakh above match costs and RS 30 Lakh and RS 10 Lakh are awarded respectively to categories B and C.

The Indian team will have to launch on occasion later this year when the ODI World Cup is at home. Despite all the resources at their disposal, Indian women have not yet won a global trophy.
