Atalanta’s place at the Champions League A position of Serie A is threatened after their original Hoodoo continued with the 1-0 Sunday defeat against the best four hopes of Lazio. The candidates for a first championship title only a few weeks ago, a third consecutive defeat left Atalanta, third, looking over their shoulders in a pocket of teams which chained for a place in the Europe Elite Club competition. Gustav Isaksen spoke the winner of Lazio’s house after a defensive mixture in the 54th minute in Bergamo, where Atalanta has not won a domestic match since Christmas.

Atalanta is only two points ahead of Bologna, who has the fourth lead about their home confrontation with the hopes of Scudetto Napoli on Monday evening, while Juventus can draw the level of 58 points with the team of Gian Piero Gasperini with a victory in Roma in shape later on Sunday.

The Roma also target the first four before the late match at the Stadio Olimpico, with the rejuvenated team of Claudio Ranieri four points behind Bologna after a series of seven consecutive victories in Serie A.

Atalanta did not even score in her last four games in the Home League and Sunday’s defeat had the impression that an extremely successful era ended for provincial arrivals, who should lose coach Gasperini in summer.

Gasperini has been at the helm since 2016 and, with the help of the local family in Percassi who guides the club, Atalanta passed the fodder mid-table to the winners of the Europa League.

But Atalanta’s attack football has dried up since the start of the year, and the stars Ademola Lookman and Mateo Retatei were replaced in the 75th minute with the hosts who continued the game after poor individual performances.

The Italian striker Useddled missed the only real chance of Atalanta of the match four minutes before the winner of Isaksen for Lazio, who went to the sixth and two points behind Bologna.

Lazio welcomes local Roma rivals next weekend in what promises to be a particularly spicy derby, while ATALANTA welcomes Bologna in another key match in a tight race for the Champions League.
