Australian Star Ellyse Perry Backs England To Bounce Back Under Charlotte Edwards As Coach

The Australian versatile Ellysis Perry considers that England of the Rivals of Arch can rebound under their new head coach and former striker Charlotte Edwards by taking over, saying that the team is a “group of champions”. The women of England lost the seven games during their multi-format tour in Australia in Australia earlier this year-a result followed by head coach Jon Lewis and Captain Heather Knight who both left their roles. Perry, however, is convinced that the CPI Women’s Woman World Cup in India later this year, England will turn the page with the new head coach Charlotte Edwards by taking over.
“If you look at the class of this English team and the players they have, their best side is a great side,” said Perry in Sky Sports, quoted by ICC.
“I have absolutely no doubt that they will be a very different team this summer in England, but also in the World Cup in India.”
“They are a group of champions, and you are always allowed to have difficult periods and challenges where you are a little distant.”
“But there is a lot of class in this team, and it will show fairly quickly. It was probably more a problem than any type of long-standing problem, so I’m delighted to see how Edwards brings them back,” she concluded.
Former England Captain Edwards had led the team to a Women’s Women’s World Cup of the ICC as well as T20 World Cup titles in 2009.
The Temple of Fame ICC hopes to prevent England a step further during the Cricket World Cup in India later this year, after finishing the finalists of the 2022 edition of the tournament.
Australia and England have already qualified for the Tournament de marqueau – finishing the first and third in the ranking of the 2022/25 CPI Women’s Championship.
While Perry will play a central role in the defense of the title of the Cricket World Cup in Australia in India, the All-Rounder Veteran also plans a major summer in England next year which will see them welcome the Women’s T20 World Cup.
“Culturally, there are so many similarities between Australian and English cricket. I had the chance to play a little in England in my career, and I still like to do that.”
“Playing Cricket T20 (for Hampshire) here, I also have an eye on the World Cup in England next year, so I’m delighted to have the chance to be here this summer.”
“Everyone really awaits this event. There is a lot of competition, especially by playing in India, which always brings a lot of challenges,” he concluded.
During the previous edition of the tournament, while England was eliminated from the tournament in the group phase, Australia was beaten by South Africa in the semi-finals.
