Shreyas Iyer’s Honest Admission After Punjab Kings’ Loss To RCB: “Not Able To Capitalise…”

The Punjab Kings (PBKS) suffered a defeat with seven gohets in the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Mullanpur on Sunday, allowing visitors to avenge their previous loss in the season. The victory raised the RCB in third place in the point table with five victories, three defeats and 10 points – like PBKS, which is now fourth due to the net execution rate. Shreyas Iyer, the leaders of Punjab, addressed the difficulties of the team after the match.
“If you see the majority of drummers, they like to go from the first ball … We are not able to capitalize on the departures that we obtain. The counter becomes more and more slow. Even in the intermediate phase, we thought that we could face the quieurs. Credit in Virat and the boys,” he said, according to Espncricinfo.
Despite promising departures from their first order, PBKS has again vacated in the middle of the Overs, fighting to maintain the momentum and display a defensible total. The inconsistency of the intermediate order has now become a concern for the franchise, something that Iyer was frank.
“We continue to talk about adaptation to the counter. Little of other drummers of the intermediate order must intensify; need to take the bull by the horns. I am in a large mental space.
PBKS now has a six -day break before their next match – a crucial window to regroup and reassess.
“We have six days of break, so it is important that we returned to the drawing board. It is also important to assess our body,” added Iyer.
Coming to the match, RCB won the draw and chose to play first. After the Openers Priyansh Arya (22 out of 15 balls, with three four and one six) and Prabhsimran Singh (33 in 17 bullets, with five four and a six) delivered a beautiful 42 -round support, they simply could not resume their grip in the match while Spinners Krunal (2/25) and Suyash Sharma (2/26) dominated the Chât de la Gatte. A 43 -point stand between Marco Jansen (25 * in 20 balls, with two six) and Shashank Singh (31 * in 33 balls, with a four) brought PBKs to a modest 157/6 in 20 Overs.
During the continuation of 158 points, RCB lost Phil Salt early, but the half-century of Virat Kohli (73 * in 54 bullets, with seven four and one six) and Devdutt Padikkal (61 in 35 balls, with five four and four) brought RCB to a victory for seven bullets with seven balls.
With this victory, RCB managed to avenge his defeat at five counters against PBKS in their original stadium of M Chinnaswammy Stadium and won his fifth victory of the season. They are in third place, with five victories, three defeats and 10 points. With the same win-victory report, PBKS is in fourth place.
