Hugo Orlando Gatti, a legendary Argentinian goalkeeper and former star of the national team, died Sunday at the age of 80, said the South American football confederation. Gatti was hospitalized two months ago for a broken hip but developed pneumonia, kidney and heart problems and was finally sedation while his health was. The reports indicated that his family decided on Sunday to withdraw it from life. Gatti – whose nickname was “El Loco” or The Mad Man – held the record for most of the matches played in the best Argentine football division, with 765. He played from 1962 to 1988.

At 44, he was still in the departure training for the regional giants of Boca Juniors football.
