Jasprit Bumrah Named Wisden’s Leading Men’s Cricketer; Smriti Mandhana Wins Women’s Honour

The first stimulator of India, Jasprit Bumrah, was appointed Tuesday as the main male cricket player in the world while the prolific Smriti Mandhana striker seized the honor in the 2025 edition of Almanack de Wisden Cricketers. The two Indian players were honored for their remarkable performance last year. Bumrah, 31, picked up 71 test counters in the 2024 season with an average of 14.92, the plus by any bowler player with such an economy in a single year. He became the first test bowler in history to claim 200 counters from an average of less than 20.

In the Border-Gavaskar trophy in Australia, Bumrah almost alone carried out the attack on India with 32 counters with an average of 13.06.

During the T20 World Cup, he was appointed tournament player for his 15 counters at an economic rate of only 4.17, leading India to his first ICC trophy since 2013.

The senior striker of the female team Smriti Mandhana made a double in India because she was appointed the first Wisden women’s cricket player in the world.

Mandhana, 28 years old, scored 1659 ending with formats in 2024 – the most with a woman cricket player during a calendar year of international cricket – including four hundred ODI, which was another record.

She closed her efforts with a second century of test – 149 – in a 10 gates victory against South Africa.

Mandhana has become the first Indian woman since the prize was created to win the title twice. She had already won the coveted honor in 2018 also.

Nicholas Pooran, the Antils, was named the main T20 player in the world.
