Asian U-15, U-17 Boxing Championships: 5 More Indians Advance To Semi-Finals

Five Indian boxers, including three boys and two girls, qualified in the semi-finals of the U-5 Asian championships in Amman, Jordan. From the male championship U-15, Nelson Khwairakpam (55 kg) obtained a victory for a referee competition (RSC) in the first round on Wang Sheng-Yang of Chinese Taipei on the fifth day of competitions on Wednesday. Abhijeet (61 kg) and Lakshay Phogat (64 kg) won 5-0 against 5-0 against the opponents of Kyrgyzstan and Jordan, respectively in their battles in the quarterfinals.
Among the girls, Printi (52 kg) gave a strong result of 5-0 on Yeva Kubanova of Ukraine.
Samruddhi Sagé Shinde (55 kg) finished his fight with an RSC in the third round against Kseniia Savina Ukrainian.
Six Indians had already made their way in the semi-finals on Tuesday.
