“Let It Be…”: MS Dhoni Drops One-Liner After Ravi Shastri’s Big Question At RCB vs CSK Toss Time

Captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mahendra Singh Dhoni, shared a light moment with the former cricket player of India and the head coach Ravi Shastri during the time to launch against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Ms. Dhoni had chosen to play Bowl after winning the draw in a crowded Mr. Chinnaswamy stadium, when her former Shastri coach asked if CSK intended to control the aggressive power striker of RCB. Dhoni dropped a cheeky line answer to Shastri’s question, refusing to give his cards before a high -level match.
“Whether plans, Ravi Bhai,” said Dhoni during the draw.
It turned out that RCB openers have presented an aggressive screen with the bat. The Englishman Jacob Bethell broke half a century on only his second IPL match, slamming 55 balls on 33 balls. The faithful of the RCB, Virat Kohli, was even faster, making 62 on his 33 balls.
CSK could not limit RCB strikers in the power game, while Kohli and Bethell stacked 71 points in the power game.
CSK Pacers Khaleel Ahmed and Ashhul Kamboj were taken to the cleaners by Salt and Bethell in the power game.
“We want to make the most of the last four games we have. Try to examine next year and what individual will adapt to what role. Yes, we want to win matches, but it is important to get the most out of the four games,” said Dhoni, addressing Shastri during the draw.
CSK undoubtedly endured their worst IPL season in 2025 and entered the match against RCB after winning only two of their ten matches. It is a form that has seen the usually coherent side that Dhoni was appointed captain of CSK halfway through the tournament, after regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was excluded due to an elbow injury.
The Yellow team has particularly disappointed the bat, with experienced players like Rahul Tripathi, Vijay Shankar, Deepak Hooda and even pillars like Ravira Jadeja not making a coherent contribution.
Mid-season arrivals Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis showed potential overviews with the bat, and could affect a transition in the approach to CSK. They are likely to be preserved and have made key players by the franchise in the coming seasons.
On the bowling front, Noor Ahmad and Khaleel Ahmed were the only brilliant lights, the two picking up more than 12 counters this season. Ravichandran Ashwin could be released by the franchise after being bought for Rs 9.75 crores but disappointing.
