Barcelona Battle Back At Valladolid To Preserve La Liga Title Charge

Barcelona survived a fear when they came from behind to beat the real Valladolid 2-1 already linked on Saturday to extend their Liga advance and get closer to the title. The Catalan giants shot strongly with a confrontation in the semi-finals of the Champions League of Tuesday at Inter Milan and have lagged behind the deviated goal of Ivan Sanchez. However, the second half’s strikes from Raphinha and Fermin Lopez helped Barça climbing seven points at the shelter of second-class champions, Real Madrid, which welcomed Celta Vigo on Sunday before the Clasico on May 11.

Barça coach Hansi Flick only kept two players who started the 3-3 blockbuster match in the draw with Inter Wednesday by his side – Pedri Gonzalez and Gerard Martin.

Flick brought his German compatriot Marc-André Ter Stegen in order, after a long injury layoff for his first appearance since September.

“I was really looking forward to playing this game and it’s always better with a victory for the team,” Ter Stegen told Dazn.

“We stayed in the same dynamic, which was super important, and we are delighted for weeks in front of us with spectacular games.”

He did not start dream fashion for the goalkeeper – in six minutes, Ter Stegen chose the ball of his net.

Martin’s shot from the right of the area diverted Ronald Araujo and completed in front of Ter Stegen, in the most distant corner.

Although they earned the league leaders, home fans protested against the owner and president of the majority of Valladolid, Ronaldo, the former Grand Brazil, launching around false tickets with his face on them and singing him.

Valladolid’s goalkeeper Andre Ferreira, took a tour of Pau Victor’s head after Fermin Lopez chose the striker with a curling cross and saved Ansu Fati.

Ter Stegen made a nice backup to deny Raul Moro, who broke out on the left and could have doubled the advance of the hosts.

Barça’s beginner, Dani Rodriguez, suffered a shoulder injury that needed a heavy bandage, and Flick removed the midfielder for the feeling of the teenager Lamine Yamal.

The 17 -year -old shone against Inter in the middle of the week and despite the coach hoping that he could rest at the Jose Zorilla stadium, with Barca behind Flick was happy to bring him.

The coach also removed Pedri and Ansu at halftime, sending Raphinha and Frenkie de Jong to shake the side.

After Yamal was the victim of a fault at the start of the second half, Raphinha tested Ferreira with a free kick from a wide angle that he pushed behind.

“Satisfied and happy”

The two wingers of Barça were again involved while the Catalans were complained, with the dangerous Yamal cross pushed by the box by Ferreira.

Raphinha picked up the loose ball and slipped his 16th goal from the campaign into the house.

Seven minutes later, Barça took the lead, Martin sliding the ball so that Lopez ends just inside the area.

Hector Fort came to spin the third after Yamal found it with a feedback, skillfully turning into the box before shooting the post.

Ferreira expelled a Dani Olmo free kick in the last stages, the Barça unable to add in their advance.

Araujo has made a vital interception in its area in stopping time to keep the lower side at a distance, the Barça relieved to win a vital victory.

“Three points were our goal and we got it, so I am satisfied and happy,” Flick told Dazn.

For Valladolid, despite their considerable efforts, it has become another disappointing night.

“In the first half, we kept them well, until they mark, the team was doing a very good defensive work,” said Valladolid Sanchez scorer.

“This is what happened to us this season, you let in a goal, then the team flows, made mistakes.”
