AC Milan has kept its European football hopes for the next season, coming from behind to beat Bologna 3-1 in Serie A Friday in a warm-up for the final of the Italian Cup next week. The accumulation of Santiago Gimenez and a Christian shot Pulisic turned around a match that seemed ready to be that of Bologna when Riccardo Orsolini fled with his 13th goal of the season three minutes after the break. A third consecutive victory in the league has raised Milan a place in the eighth, less than three points from the fourth Juventus, Roma and Lazio with two remaining games in their league season.
Juve is at Lazio on Saturday while Monday Roma – which welcomes Milan next weekend – will go to Atalanta who is five points ahead of this trio and the favorites to claim one of the two remaining places in the best club competition in Europe.
The leaders of the Napoli League and Inter Milan contest the Scudetto and have already obtained the qualification.
Bologna, two points above Milan in seventh, chases a place in the Champions League for a second consecutive year and also aimed at putting an end to a expectation of 51 years for a major trophy when they face Milan in the national cup final on Wednesday.
