The 2025 IPL match between the Kings of Punjab (PBKS) and the Capitals of Delhi (DC), which was canceled Thursday in the midst of air missiles and drone attacks against several Indian cities in Pakistan, should be replayed once the tournament resumes. With PBKS at 122/1 after 10.1 overs, the match had been canceled Thursday, a technical failure being initially quoted as reason. Since then, IPL 2025 has been temporarily suspended for a week. However, if it is a question after that following the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the confrontation between PBKS and DC will probably be replayed.
According to a report by the Indian Express, the match should be replayed. Whether it means that it will be restarted from the exact point, it has been arrested or that it is played as a brand new match is not yet known.
In the match, the openers not capped of PBKS Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh had again dazzled. Arya criticized a sparkling shot of 70 points on only 34 bullets, with five limits and six six in sleeves. Prabhsimran had also recorded his half-century, culminating in an opening stand of 122 points.
In the current state of things, the official IPL website has not counted the match as a “ result ”, indicating that it should be played again once the tournament resumes.
Consequently, PBKS remains on 15 points after 11 games, while DC has 13 points after the same. A victory for the kings of Punjab led by Shreyas Iyer would guarantee that they become the first team to qualify for the playoffs.
However, the IPL will have many logistical problems to be resolved before that, because the date of restarting the tournament is not yet known. Most overseas players have already returned to their country of origin, while several local Indian players have returned to their cities of origin.
