Among the many members of the Indian film industry were Aamir Khan and his production house which cried the loss of the legendary makeup artist Vikram Gaikwad after his death in Mumbai on Saturday. Known for his exceptional work through Hindi, marathi and cinema in southern India, the contribution of Gaikwad to Indian cinema was hailed as a transformer. His latest rites would have taken place at the Shivaji Park in Dadar, where close friends, colleagues and fans gathered to say goodbye to one of the best artists in the industry.

In addition to the film industry, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, also expressed condolences and recognized the vast contribution of Gaikwad to the world of cinema and theater. Gaikwad, a national award -winning makeup artist, was widely respected for her meticulous attention to details and her ability to give life to the characters on the screen. Some of his most acclaimed works presented in films include Ponniyin Selvan,, ’83,, Tanhaji: the unknown warrior,, Uri: the surgical strike,, Sanju,, Ms Dhoni: Unpublished history,, O Kadhal KanmaniAnd Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. In addition to Bollywood, Gaikwad was a very respected name in the cinema and the Marathi theater, having shaped the visual identities of many historical and contemporary characters represented on the screen.
His death marks the end of an era in the world of the art of Indian makeup.
