On Virat Kohli Test Retirement Talks, Ex-India Star Hints At “Helplessness” Factor

The former striker of India Mohammed Kaif urged Virat Kohli to reconsider his decision as reports of his retirement in retirement of the test. A few days after the captain of India Rohit Sharma decided to end his test career, Espncriricinfo reported that Kohli had communicated to BCCI about his intention to withdraw from the format. India took place very soon on England for a series of five tests, the BCCI would have urged the player to reconsider his decision. The player, however, has not yet communicated his final decision to the board of directors.
By turning on the X social media platform, Kaif suggested that if Kohli was decided to retire, he should do it in style by playing the five tests against England. Kaif also explained the logic behind Kohli Mulling withdrawn, if the reports are true.

If Virat retires, he would mark the end of an illustrious 14 -year -old test career, during which he carried out 9,230 points in 123 tests at an average of 46.85, with 30 centuries.
He is also the most successful test captain in India, having won 40 of the 68 tests with the armband.
In 2016-2019, Virat appreciated one of the greatest prime numbers in the history of the longest format. With 4,208 points in his name in 43 tests at an average of 66.79, he marked 16 centuries and 10 fifty in 69 innings, which makes him one of the greatest ambassadors in the format.
However, the decade of the 2020s was not formidable for the superstar striker, having only made 2,028 points in 39 tests to a disappointing average of 30.72, with only three centuries and nine fifty to show in 69 rounds. His figure received a boost from a fine 2023, where he made 671 points in eight tests at an average of 55.91, with two centuries and two fifty in 12 rounds.
He finished last year with only 382 points in 10 tests to a shocking average of 22.47, with only a century and fifty in 19 sleeves. His latest test outing was the Border-Gavaskar Trophy tour in Australia in November-January, where he only made 190 points in nine rounds on average of 23.75, his century in Perth being a culminating point. This century was its first since July 2023, when he struck a ton against the Antilles in Port of Spain in 2023.
