The Paris Saint-Germain striker, Ousmane Dembele, was appointed the player of the year of Ligue 1 on Sunday, after having led the club to a 13th French title and to the final of the Champions League. Dembele is the top scorer in Ligue 1 this season with 21 goals and has struck 33 times in 46 games all competitions, including eight goals in Europe. He succeeds Kylian Mbappe who won the prize five times in a row before leaving for Real Madrid at the end of last season.
Luis Enrique won the honors of the year’s coach during the UNFP (French Players’ Union) trophies gala, while Désure Doue won the Best Young Player in Ligue 1.
Lucas Chevalier de Lille refused to the PSG a clean scanning of the distinctions while he beat Gianluigi Donnarumma at the cost of the best goalkeeper.
PSG is on the right track for a triple after having relaxed a title of 11th Ligue 1 in 13 years. They will play Inter Milan in the final of the Champions League on May 31, a week after having faced Reims in the centerpiece of the French Cup.
